President and CEO Pat Coleman was among 20 leaders honored by the St. Louis Business Journal’s Diverse Business Leaders Awards Friday, September 14. This esteemed recognition recognizes individuals who promote diversity around race, sexual orientation and disability. Read more about Pat’s award here.
Under Pat’s leadership, BHR has been a champion toward working to remove barriers to mental health care access for the undeserved population including racial and ethnic groups in the rural and urban communities in the eastern region of Missouri.
BHR strives to make a bigger impact in the delivery of access / crisis intervention, fighting the disparities. One in ten adults in Missouri have a serious mental illness, and 40 percent of those adults go without treatment. Additionally, Missouri has the second highest suicide rate in the Midwest.
BHR’s executive leadership team and its dedicated board are committed to its mission to ensure compassionate and immediate barrier-free access to behavioral health services by trained clinicians 24/7, 365 days a year to anyone in Missouri’s eastern region.
The Business Journal received over 125 nominations for this year’s Diverse Business Leaders program. BHR’s board and staff are proud of Pat’s achievement and congratulate her for this well-deserved honor!
