DESCRIPTION:This program is designed for the Freedom Community Center\, a nonprofit focused on restorative justice. They prioritize re-entry work in North City and assist in posting bail and navigating a person’s legal matters.  \nIt the program will outline ways individuals respond emotionally\, cognitively\, and behaviorally to overwhelming emotions. SUMMARY:Trauma-Informed Care
DESCRIPTION:This program is designed for Bayless High School teachers and staff. It will outline the way youth respond emotionally\, cognitively\, and behaviorally to overwhelming emotions. When we understand what changes happen in the brain and body when we become emotionally overwhelmed\, we can learn to self-correct in the moment. The training will demonstrate that behaviors are purposeful and a biological hardwiring for survival that cannot necessarily be changed but managed and fine-tuned. \nWe also will discuss how abuse\, neglect\, and household dysfunction change our worldview and impact our ability to be rational and use reason\, logic\, morality\, and regulate our thoughts and emotions. We will provide practical tips and resources to help individuals learn to self-correct as well as how to regulate the environment while teaching others to self-correct. \nIf you are interested in a similar training for your organization\, please email us at resources@bhrworldwide.com. \n  \n
